Switch from Postman in Minutes
Import your Postman collections, environments, and requests into RESTK with zero data loss. Keep everything you have built and get a faster, private, offline-first experience.
Everything Gets Imported
RESTK preserves your entire Postman workspace. Nothing is left behind.
Collections & Folders
Your entire collection hierarchy is preserved, including nested folders, request ordering, and descriptions.
Requests & Methods
All HTTP methods, URLs, headers, query parameters, body payloads, and pre-request scripts come across intact.
Environments & Variables
Global, collection, and environment variables are mapped to RESTK environments with their initial and current values.
Auth Configurations
Bearer tokens, Basic Auth, OAuth 2.0, API keys, and custom auth headers are all imported and ready to use.
Tests & Scripts
Pre-request and test scripts are imported. RESTK highlights any incompatible snippets so you can update them quickly.
Request History
Your recent request history is preserved so you can pick up right where you left off without missing a beat.
Migrate in Four Simple Steps
The entire process takes less than five minutes, even for large workspaces.
Export from Postman
Open Postman, select the collection you want to migrate, click the three-dot menu, and choose "Export". Select Collection v2.1 format and save the JSON file.
Tip: You can also export environments separately via the Environments tab.
Import in RESTK
Open RESTK, go to File > Import (or press Cmd+I / Ctrl+I), select "Postman Collection" as the format, and choose your exported JSON file.
Tip: Drag and drop also works. Just drop the file anywhere in the RESTK window.
Verify Your Data
RESTK shows you a detailed import summary: how many collections, requests, environments, and variables were imported. Review and confirm.
Tip: Any incompatible scripts or unsupported features are clearly flagged for your review.
Start Testing
You are all set. Your collections are organized, environments are configured, and you can start sending requests immediately.
Tip: Try the keyboard-driven workflow. Hit Cmd+P / Ctrl+P to quickly navigate your imported collections.
Not Just Postman
RESTK supports importing from all major API tools and formats.
Insomnia
Import Insomnia v4 export files including workspaces, folders, and requests.
OpenAPI / Swagger
Import OpenAPI 3.0/3.1 and Swagger 2.0 specs. Automatically generates requests for every endpoint.
HAR Files
Import HTTP Archive files captured from browser DevTools or proxy tools.
cURL Commands
Paste any cURL command and RESTK converts it into a fully configured request instantly.
What's Better After You Switch
Same collections, same workflows, dramatically better experience.
Offline-First
RESTK works without an internet connection. Your data is stored locally and syncs when you are back online.
Native Performance
Built with SwiftUI (macOS) and native APIs (Windows). Instant startup, low memory, zero Electron bloat.
Privacy-First
Your API keys, tokens, and request data never leave your machine unless you explicitly choose to sync.
No Forced Cloud
Unlike Postman, RESTK does not require an account to use. No mandatory cloud storage, no telemetry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose any data during migration?
No. RESTK imports all collections, requests, environments, variables, auth configs, and scripts. Any features that cannot be directly mapped are flagged in the import summary so nothing is silently dropped.
Can I migrate my entire team at once?
Yes. Each team member can export their own Postman data and import it individually, or a team admin can export the shared workspace and import it into a RESTK organization workspace for everyone.
How does RESTK pricing compare to Postman?
RESTK is free for individual use with generous limits. Our Pro plan is significantly cheaper than Postman Pro, and there are no usage-based surprises. Check our pricing page for a detailed comparison.
Does RESTK support Postman Collection v2.0 and v2.1?
Yes. Both Postman Collection v2.0 and v2.1 formats are fully supported. We recommend v2.1 for the most complete import.
What about Postman Monitors and Mock Servers?
RESTK has its own approach to automated testing and mock servers. While Postman Monitors are not directly imported, your test scripts are, and you can set up equivalent workflows in RESTK.
Can I still use Postman alongside RESTK?
Absolutely. There is no lock-in with RESTK. You can export your data from RESTK at any time and continue using both tools if you prefer.
